Lord, remind me that no matter what comes my way,
Your love and grace are greater than any challenges I may face.
Thank You for Your constant presence in my life and for always being my hope and strength.
Amen.

I am Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God has chosen for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call;
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I’ve found now peace at the end of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
Oh yes, these things, I too will l miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
look for the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much;
good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.

Perhaps my time seems all too brief;
don’t lengthen your time with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and peace to thee,
God wanted me now – He set me free.

Echoes In Her Smile

Her laughter still echoes in my mind
A sound so pure and bright
Her smile, a ray of sunshine
That filled my life with light

Her touch, a gentle caress
A memory I can’t forget
Her love, a warm embrace
A bond I won’t regret

She’s gone, but not forgotten
Her spirit lives on within
Her memory, a treasured token
Of the love she left behind

In our heavenly home

Welcomed by angels singing
Ushered to His glorious presence
You stand tall with face glowing,
Free from tears and pain."

Don't Cry For Me

Don't cry for me now I have I've gone away,
for I'm still here I'm by your side,
My body's gone but my soul is here,
please don't shed another tear,
I am still here I'm all around, only my body lies in the ground.

Sunrise: January 17, 1948     Sunset: August 20, 2019

Clinton Brown Jr. "Butch" was born on January 17, 1948 to Mary Eskridge and Clinton Brown Sr. in Chicago, Illinois. His mother while he was a toddler he moved to Oakland to live with his grandmother, Mary Louise Eskridge and aunt Moochie. While in Oakland at an early age, Clinton gave his life to the Lord. After graduation, he joined the United States Marines. In 1973, "Butch" became a sharp shooter. After leaving the military Clinton moved to Las Vegas, NV and began his career as a cook at the Rivera, El Cortez, Las Vegas Club, Hacienda, and Big Mama's "Butch" loved the Lord with everything inside of him. In his early years, he was very active at The Church of Lord Jesus and Tabernacle of Faith. You would see Clinton, picking up all the children to go to church in the can or in front of the church fulfilling his deacon duties. Clinton loved sports with baseball being his favorite. He played on several baseball teams in Las Vegas. You would always see him with one of his favorite teams, The dodgers or the Raiders hats on the top of his head. While in Las Vegas, Clinton met his soulmate, Lorraine Joshua in 1979. For the next 40 years, Clinton and Lorraine built an unbeatable friendship and bond, with them finally solidifying their love in marriage in 2016. Clinton was a very settle man, you could always find him watching a sports game on T.V.  cracking jokes, nicknaming the grandkids, or cooking his infamous smothered potatoes. He was loved by many left years of memories for those who were blessed to know him.

On August 20th, 2019, Clinton Brown Jr lost his battle with liver cancer and has gone to join his loved ones beyond the skies to be with the most high God.
