Obituary
Billy Sherman Hicks III, 39, born January 8th, 1982, at Dominguez Valley Hospital in Long Beach California. Billy grew up in the LA region, stemming from LA to Compton to Watts in his early years. Billy grew up in church, home to Abundant Joy Christian Fellowship now known as the dwelling place where he was baptized and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Billy had such a reverence for the Lord. Growing up in church Billy played different roles as an usher and also working behind the scenes as a camera man during church service every Sunday. Billy would also travel to downtown LA with his family as they prayed for and fed those that were less fortunate. Billy had a big heart and was extremely passionate for those in need. Another passion he had was the love of sports and was highly involved in his childhood years. Billy was an outstanding baseball player, formally nicknamed "The clean up batter" but also had a huge affinity for basketball and football as well. Will Rodgers Park is where his love for sport kicked off as Billy played all year around for a decade and receiving many accolades during that time frame.
Billy moved to Buena Park and attended Western Highschool in Anaheim California where he made many friends that he continued to have close relationships with all the way up to his passing. Billy joined the football team as a freshman and worked his way up to varsity level as a senior. Along with playing football, Billy enjoyed watching football leisurely and was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. After graduating high school, Billy attended San Diego Job Corp where he received a certification in business as he looked to pursue a career as an accountant. Billy also attended Nevada State School of massage therapy in 2017 and eventually took on the role of a massage therapist. Soon after, he went on to pursue a career in the food and restaurant business where he excelled. Other hobbies Billy loved was listening to music, cooking and being around the people he loved especially his kids. Billy was a great father! Gave all he had and would always shower them with love. Billy passed away peacefully from this life into eternal life on Sunday July 18th, 2021, at North Vista Hospital in Henderson Nevada. His caring heart, laid back demeanor, sweet spirit and love for family will truly be missed
