Lord, remind me that no matter what comes my way,
Your love and grace are greater than any challenges I may face.
Thank You for Your constant presence in my life and for always being my hope and strength.
Amen.

I am Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God has chosen for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call;
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I’ve found now peace at the end of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
Oh yes, these things, I too will l miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
look for the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much;
good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.

Perhaps my time seems all too brief;
don’t lengthen your time with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and peace to thee,
God wanted me now – He set me free.

In our heavenly home
Beyond the starry sky.

Welcomed by angels singing
Ushered to His glorious presence
You stand tall with face glowing,
Free from tears and pain."

Sunrise: October 21, 1929     Sunset: May 21, 2019

On Tuesday, May 21, 2019 our Matriach, our core, and our heart was called home to be with the Lord. Her name is Eileen Viola (Barnes) Caldwell.

Eileen was born to the union of Valmore and Viola (Johns) Barnes in October 21, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY. Eileen was one of five children, Phyllis (Barnes) Foster, Rudolph Barnes, Valmore Jr Barnes, Elzina (Lillie) Barnes.

Eileen was very ambitious as a child. As a child her favorite color was red, which stuck with her throughout her youth. She was then nicknamed "Red". She began her early education at PS 429 in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Jones High School also in Brooklyn.

After High School, Eileen met Hubert Caldwell. The two began courting and then become one through their union of marriage. She was a stay at home wife. Shortly after Hubert & Eileen got settled in as newlyweds the two gave birth to their eldest son Michael Derrick Caldwell.

Shortly after Michael was born, Eileen returned to the workforce working at a candy manufacturer warehouse in Brooklyn. After a short time Eileen moved on to bigger and better things when she was hired to work for the United States Post Office. Eileen then had her younger son Mark Caldwell. Eileen loved working at the post office as a mail clerk. Unfortunately, Herbert and Eileen split and Hubert moved to California.

A short time after, her oldest son Michael enlisted in the United States Air Force. Michael also moved to California for his service. However, that stay lasted a span of 5-6 years.

eileen took care of herself and her sons the best way she knew how. Making sure they were good spiritually, physically, and mentally. That's how amazing she was.

Eileen retired and enjoyed herself by playing the number, watching television and taking many trips to Las Vegas and California. She loved watching TV shows such as The Steve Harvey Show, Family Feud, & Wendy Williams. Eileen also loved to cook. Oxtails were her favorite.

Eileen was a no holds barred type person. She gave it to you straight whether you liked it or not! She was a women of truth, respect, and wisdom, and she will truly be missed!
