Roy Henderson

Mr. Roy Wayne Henderson was born to Katherine Carr and Thurman Henderson in Sondheimer, Louisiana, August 8th, 1950. 

Wayne accepted Christ at an early age at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend E.L. Cable. He received his education from East Carroll Parish Public Schools.

Wayne moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in the early 70's. He sought and obtained employment at the Frontier Hotel and Casino. There he met Shirley Jean Mathews; and to this union they were blessed with two children. Wayne remained at the Frontier in a career he loved he retired. Even in retirement his duties continued as a loving father, husband, brother, son, uncle, grandpa, and best friend.

Wayne was a man of Faith. He all types of music, from gospel to "Downhome" blues. In his free time loved to play games from Spades, Tonk, Pitty Pat, event Go Fish. BUT his favorite was Dominoes...which leads us to the Fellas, where he could be found every Sunday. The Crew constated of his hometown Buddies. 

Wayne was one of a kind, you would never see him out without his hat, shades, gold jewelry, and that smile that would light up and room. He was always cool, clean, creased and smelling good. 

Wayne will be embraced in his new home by his Heavenly Father and loving wife Irene Harrison Henderson with whom he shared 27 wonderful years.
