Ruby King

Ruby Jean King was born April 7, 1928 to union of Robert King Sr. and Julee King in Morton, Mississippi. She was one of four children.

She went to school and graduated from Scott County Training School and graduated in 1946. In 1954, Ruby moved to Las Vegas, NV following her brothers in pursuit of work and a new life. She landed a job working at one of the casinos on the strip, The Desert Inn. Later on , she transferred to The Sands Hotel, the Hacienda Hotel, and ended up at the Dunes Hotel and Casino as a supervisor in linen control for 30 years and retired.

Ruby was raised in the church and accepted Christ at an early age. She became a member of Second Baptist Church, and later on in life, Ruby moved her membership over to college Park Baptist Church. 

She loved gardening, cooking, combing hair, and especially sewing. Whether it was clothes or quilts, it brought joy to her seeing her family and friends enjoy the fruits of her labor, and the smiles it put on their faces.
